Print Of The Day (1)

I shot the nature project about a year ago. A few months ago I rented a very expensive scanner and scanned most of the 80 some images I shot. Since I’m so busy with the “OUT” project it is hard for me to find the time to print my final 22 selects. This is why I decided to print one of them per day for the next 22 days.

This image is a shot of parts of a  a butterfly bush. The project was shot while I was spending a week at my roommate Nieves’s country house close to Harrisburg/Pennsylvania.

The print is 16×20 inches large and printed on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Paper what is an acid free matt paper. I converted the printer I used (Epson 4800) with the Piezography Ink System from color to a b/w only printer by replacing the 8 color inks with 7 shades of grey.

The result is a print that to me is the best b/w inkjet print possible that looks more like a platinum then a silver print. It is also the most archival inkjet possible.

Only 21 more days to go! 🙂
